About Kim
Graduating with a Ba Hons in Design from Staffordshire University in the heart of the British potteries in Stoke-on-Trent and specialising in glass and ceramics at the age of 21, I then went on to have a career as a glassblower and teacher of glass for many years before returning to my first love of pottery. My work for some years now has been wheel thrown porcelain which I glaze with crystalline glazes, these glazes contain the raw ingredients to create crystals that develop and grow in the kiln firing. Crystalline glazes on ceramic for me are the perfect marriage of the glassy crystalline magma that attracted me to molten glass and the earthy tactile clay.
