One Day Private Pottery Session *inc materials and firings.
This is a really good introduction to working with ceramics. The recipient (or you) will learn how to throw items on the wheel such as coffee cups, cereal bowls, plant pots and vases, making around 6 to 20 pieces depending on the complexity. This course will also explore the hand building process to make a range of gorgeous items, such as house signs tiles and coasters, jewellery and decorative dishes, you can choose to colour the items using ceramic slips and glazes.
The pieces will then be dried for a week, have there first firing to 1000 degrees centigrade (bisque firing) then they will be taken out and individually glazed, re loaded into a hotter stoneware firing of around 1200 degrees centigrade so that they are durable, dishwasher safe/frost proof and a lovely toasted stoneware colour.
Each firing takes 2/3 days so you need to allow at least 2 weeks for your pieces to ge ready for collection.
